Meanwhile her maid Blonde and Belmonte’s servant Pedrillo must outwit with the lecherous Osmin, keeper of the Harem. When Belmonte arrives their escape seems certain, but everything hinges on the clemency of the Pasha.

Johann Strauss’s most popular work is bursting with sparkling melodies, famous waltzes and memorable arias including the joyful ‘laughing song’.
